Our Mystery Reader read Flat Stanley to Pilot A. At the end of the story she gave our friends a Flat Stanley coloring page to take home. Thank you for coming Mystery Reader!

Watery Wonders
Our Pilot A Scientist did a WONDERFUL job performing the "Watery Wonders" experiment. He explained that the egg that was placed in the salty water was able to float because salt water is more dense or thicker than regular tap water. What a wild and wacky experiment. Great job!

Mystery Reader
We had a wonderful purple Friday! Our Mystery Reader came into Pilot A with Raven's spirit. She read The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats and commented on what great listeners we were. We all hope for a snowy day soon. Thank you, Mystery Reader!

"V" is for Volcano!
Today our Scientist performed the "Making a Volcano Experiment" for "V" week! She did a great job explaining to Pilot A, that we need to include the special ingredients in order to get the volcano to erupt. The combination of vinegar and baking soda created a chemical reaction which caused the volcano to explode. The red food coloring really made the eruption look like real lava. Great job!

What Goes Up...
The scientist of the week performed our "U" week experiment today. She showed us that when you put cardboard over a water glass and flip it over the cardboard sticks to the glass. The air pressure from outside the glass is greater than the pressure of the water inside the glass. Wonderful job scientist!

Happy New Year!
Pilot A started off the new year by learning about Jan Brett, our author of the month. We read The Mitten and made our own "Hedgies" out of contruction paper and pipe cleaners.
Welcome Winter! Please remember to send in warm clothes for recess.
